Job Description for Security Test OWASP Role

HCL is looking for professionals with experience in Security Testing, having experience in working with the OWASP framework. Responsibilities encompass the identification of security risks, carrying out vulnerability assessments, and ensuring that web application are per the set standards of security.

Key Responsibilities

Web Application Security Testing & Assessment : Carry out web application security testing based on guidelines laid down in OWASP Top 10. Identify, analyze, and report security vulnerabilities.
Vulnerability Management : Utilize tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP, and any other vulnerability scanners in finding web application vulnerability. Propose some mitigation strategies.
Penetration Testing : Perform penetration testing by utilizing manual and automated and automated testing of web application, APIs, and mobile applications.
Risk Analysis : Assess the risk of vulnerabilities, and prioritize them based on their severity and potential impact. Provide recommendations for remediation.
Collaboration with teams : Offer active liaison with Development and Operations teams to understand Application Architecture, including advice on secure coding techniques.
Reporting and Documentation : Document the identified vulnerabilities and issues in the testing process. Prepare detailed reports, from which remediation steps will be developed for the development team.
Compliancy : Ensure that all application are third-party licensable and OWASP compliant to industry standards of security.
Continuous Monitoring : Continuous monitoring means the setup and maintenance of an automated testing framework that would be used to continuously monitor applications for security vulnerabilities.

Requited Skills and Qualifications

1. Educational Background :-

Graduation in computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field.
Security Testing Certification, such as CEH and OSCP, are desirable.

2. Technical Skills :-

OWASP Experience : Strong knowledge in-depth on specific OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, including SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Broken Authentication, and Security Misconfiguration.
Security Testing Tools : Proficient in tools like Burp Suite, OWASP Zap, Metasploit amongst other for vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
Programming Skills : Proficient in Python and lava Script, scripting language, familiar with API Security Testing.

3. Work Experience :-

Experience with Security testing or similar in a position-2-5 years.
Proven experience in performing penetration tests, security assessments, and vulnerability analysis of web applications.

4. Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaborating with teams.
Strong analytical skills to identify vulnerabilities and provide workable solutions.
Ability to work independently and meet deadline in a fast-paced environment.
